Hello Students: DAY- 18 Morning Coffee with NEET

HELLO STUDENTS: DAY- 18 Morning

SPECIFIC FACTS FROM PLANT ANATOMY FOR NEET BIOLOGY PREPARATIONS :

1.Types of meristems on the basis of  origin and development of initiating cells :
*PROMERISTEM=1)Tip of plumule 2)Tip of radicle

*PRIMARY MERISTEM= 1)It is derived from embryonic stages 2)differentiated  into primary permanent tissues3)apical meristems 4)intrafascicular Cambium 5)intercalary meristem

*SECONDARY MERISTEM=1)It is derived during later stage of development of the plant body 2)This produces i)vascular cambium in dicot root ii)interfascicular cambium iii)cork cambium iv)wound cambium and v)accessory cambia of monocots

2.Types of meristem on the basis of position in the plant body :

*APICAL MERISTEM :
1)Found in the apices of shoots and roots 2)arranged without vascular tissue 3)free from virus and is used in tissue culture to get virus free plants 4) responsible for increase in length of plant,it is called as primary growth 5)apical meristem is divided into three zones a)PROTODERM(gives rise to epidermal tissue)
b)PROCAMBIUM(gives rise to primary vascular tissues like Primary xylem and Primary phloem)
c)GROUND MERISTEM ( gives rise to cortex and pith)

*INTERCALARY MERISTEM:
1) it is present in the nodal region
2) prominently found in monocotyledons eg.grasses
3) it is present in between the permanent tissues
4)derived from the apical meristem
5) intercalary meristem is responsible for the elongation of internodes

*LATERAL MERISTEM:
1)it is present along the longitudinal axis of stem and root
2)Vascular cambium and Cork cambium (or) Phellogen are examples for lateral meristem.
3)this produces Secondary permanent tissues like Secondary Xylem and Secondary Phloem
4)it is responsible for thickening or increase in girth of stem and root.

3.Types of meristem on the basis of Plane of division in the plant body :

*MASS MERISTEM:It divides in all planes . Example:Endosperm,Young embryo and Sporangium

*RIB MERISTEM (or) FILE MERISTEM:It divides anticlinally in one plane . Example: development of Cortex and Pith

*PLATE MERISTEM:It divides anticlinally in two planes Example: development of Epidermis.
